June 2010: Corn is growing and now first cut of alfalfa is almost off!

May 2010: It's that time of year again....

Milking around 500 cows.
80 dry cows, 70 calves, 200 heifers.
All cattle is raised at the home farm
Own a total of 525 acres. We rent a total of 900 acres. All field work is done by Kees Sr. & Jr. along with 2-3 part-time employees.
We own a complete line of machinery, including a Harvester & Sprayer.
We also grow our own Corn for Silage & Cob Meal, along with Alfalfa & Wheat.
CURRENT EVENTS @ HOGENDOORN DAIRY
Norwell Dairy, DeLaval & SAE Afikim hosted a South Western Ontario Afimilk Study Seminar to give farmers in the area a chance to come and learn more about the management program that they are using on their farm, which was held at the Hogendoorn Dairy farm.
We had a great turn out with about 60 people coming out!

We had the experience on Monday November 16th to have a choir sing in our holding area. Something that is very unusual, but pretty neat.
The Mully Children's Family Orphanage is a group of children that have been adopted by a man & his wife, Charles & Esther Mulli out of Kena. Right now, they have took in over 2000 needy children. He has a very amazing story in the response to the desperate needs of street children, abandoned children, and HIV or AIDS orphans since 1989. To read his story go to www.mullychildrensfamily.org.
